Scott Uhrig is the founder and Managing Partner
of Whiterock Partners, a retained executive
search firm focused on high-tech companies,
particularly emerging and rapidly growing
ventures.
Scott’s search experience includes
assignments in the software, systems, telecommunications,
data communications and Internet sectors.
He has recruited for most functional positions
at the officer level, including CEO, COO,
CTO, Sales, Marketing, IT, Business Development
and Operations. His recent assignments include:
CEO, Vincera (next-gen web-based applications);
CEO, NextHop (software routing infrastructure);
CEO, MaXXan (Storage Area Network switching);
CEO, Tellaire (fiberless optics); CEO, Exelano
(wireless systems integration); CEO, Partnerware
(enterprise relationship management software);
CEO, Fracta Networks (enterprise portal
solutions); CEO, Fischer International (infrastructure
software); CEO, Netier (network appliances
and management software); and VP Online,
Dell Computer (computers and systems).
Prior to founding Whiterock, Scott was
a Partner with Connet & Company,
a Silicon Valley based search firm serving
venture-backed growth companies. While at
Connet & Company, Scott served clients
in some of the country’s top technology
markets, including Silicon Valley, southern
California, Seattle, Boston, and Florida.
Prior to joining Connet & Company, Scott
served as Principal at TMP Worldwide,
and was a member of that firm’s High-Tech
and Internet & E-Commerce Practices.
Before entering the executive search industry,
Scott was a consultant with McKinsey
& Company, where he was a member
of the Information Technology Practice and
the Interactive Multimedia Practice, and
also managed the recruiting program for
University of Texas MBAs.
Scott began his career as a software engineer
in the R&D group of Honeywell Avionics.
He then spent six years in the communications
industry at GTE, focused primarily
on the productization and commercialization
of emerging technologies.
Scott graduated with an MBA in Management
and Finance from the University of Texas,
Austin where he was a Sord Scholar and Texas
Longhorn Fellow. He also holds MS and BS
(magna cum laude) degrees in Computer Science
from the University of South Florida, and
has completed all coursework toward a PhD
in Computer Science. Prior to entering industry,
Scott spent two years as an Instructor of
Computer Science at the University of South
Florida. |

Kayla O'Rourke is an Associate with
Whiterock Partners, a retained executive
search firm focused on high-tech companies,
particularly emerging and rapidly growing
ventures.
Kayla’s search experience includes
assignments in the software, utility, education
and professional services sectors across
most functional areas. Her assignments have
ranged from Partner, Associate Partner and
VP-level searches for systems integrators
such as Accenture and Avanade; functional
assignments for software companies such
as BuildForge, DataCert and PerformanceRetail;
VP-level searches for professional services
entities such as Clark Consulting and Major,
Hagen and Africa; as well as board assignments
and C-level searches for educational and
utility entities such as the Teacher Retirement
System of Texas, University of Minnesota,
University of Nebraska, Tulane University,
Indiana University, University of Illinois
– Urbana, American Electric Power,
Vermont Electric Power and Illinois Power.
Prior to joining Whiterock, Kayla was the
Director of Human Resources and Training
with PerformanceRetail, an Austin based
software company serving the retail industry.
Prior to joining PerformanceRetail, she
served as the Director of Recruiting for
Avanade, a division of Accenture and Microsoft
systems integrator, and previously, as a
Manager of Executive Recruiting within Accenture.
Kayla began her search career with Korn/Ferry
International, the world’s largest
executive search firm, where she was a Senior
Associate.
Kayla holds an MBA degree from the University
of Texas, Dallas, and a BA degree (cum laude)
in Political Science from Hardin-Simmons
